Meet Briley Lewis, 2022 Recipient of the Maasik Prize for Graduate Writing Instructors

Lewis is a graduate student in Astronomy and Astrophysics and a teaching fellow. She has taught Cluster 70: Evolution of Life and the Universe and a Cluster seminar: Astrobiology in Science Journalism. She has also served as a TA for Astronomy 3, Astronomy 5 and Physics 5AL. At the graduate level, she has served as Teaching Assistant Coordinator for two programs: Physics and Clusters. She is pursuing the Graduate Certificate in Writing Pedagogy in Writing Programs. Beyond the classroom, she is an active ambassador for science literacy and clear, compelling scientific communication, writing for Astrobites and serving as a mentor of young scientists.
