James Epps (they/he) is a doctoral student in the Department of Information Studies at UCLA with a focus on shaping the future of archives through Black women’s and gender expansive evidence and record keeping. They hold a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from St John’s University and two Masters of Arts in Social Ethics and Womanist Theology from Union Theological Seminary and Claremont School of Theology. During which, James has taught writing courses, digital theology seminars, and led communication workshops. In 2022, he joined Writing Programs at UCLA, where they currently serve as TA Coordinator for English Composition in addition to supporting courses in Information Studies.
