Jeremy Kelley completed his doctoral studies in Applied Linguistics at UCLA in 2013, where he trained as an ethnographer and critical discourse analyst. Before earning his PhD, he completed undergraduate studies in French Language and Literature, as well as master’s work in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. His early teaching experience centered around English as a Second Language coursework and discipline-specific, advanced composition coursework. Upon joining Writing Programs in 2014, Dr. Kelley’s teaching grew to include foundational and advanced English composition coursework. He now co-directs, with Laila Hualpa, the UCLA Summer English as a Second Language Program, where he teaches a range of courses focused oral/aural skills development, grammar, and cultural studies.
