Jordan Hugh Sam

Jordan Hugh Sam (he/him) is a fifth year Ph.D. student in Musicology at UCLA. He previously earned a M.M. degree in Choral Conducting. His primary research employs techniques from anthrophonetics to study the emergence and appropriation of racial identity in group singing. Other research interests include practice-based research, queer identity in video games, and ludomusicology. Previously he has worked as a choral director at CU Boulder and Amherst College as well as several community, church, and youth choirs. Currently, he works as a researcher with the UCLA PEER Lab and as a school music teacher.
