Writing Programs Announces Inaugural Recipient of Sonia Maasik Prize for Graduate Instructors of Writing

Writing Programs is proud to announce the inaugural recipient of the Sonia Maasik Prize for Graduate Instructors of Writing. The 2020-2021 winner of the Maasik Prize is Spencer Robins.

Spencer is a graduate student in English and a teaching fellow. He has taught English 4W, 85, and M30. He has also taught outside the English department, serving as a teaching assistant for English Composition 3 for Writing Programs, and developing the syllabus for and teaching Environment 242. He successfully completed the Graduate Certificate in Writing Pedagogy in Spring 2018. This past year, the English Department selected him as their Teaching Assistant Coordinator and nominated him for the UCLA Distinguished TA Award.
