Randy Fallows has a Ph.D. in Literature from UCSD and an M.A. in Composition and Rhetoric from SDSU.  Since 1982, he has been teaching a variety of courses in writing, literature and cultural studies. He has won many accolades for his teaching, including a university wide Distinguished Teaching Award in 2013.  His book Exploring Perspectives: a Concise Guide to Analysis has received strong reviews and is being used by a number of professors at universities throughout the country.  He has also published articles in several academic journals including: Rhetoric Review, The Journal of Popular Culture, American Drama, The Journal of Popular Film and Television, Americana, and The Salem Critical Insight Series.
