Laila Hualpa

Laila Hualpa graduated from UCLA with a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics in 2012. She now teaches a variety of ESL composition and communication courses in Writing Programs and co-directs the Summer ESL Program together with Jeremy Kelley. Dr. Hualpa has taught most summer courses, but has lately focused on teaching pronunciation, public speaking, and conversation and fluency. All these oral skills courses are designed to help students improve their accents, conversational skills as well as their public speaking skills. She enjoys teaching summer visitors and sharing everything about LA with them.
